About
My name is Jennifer Furlong and I believe in freedom: the freedom to be yourself, to make your own decisions and to follow your dreams. My dream is to help participants realize their unique potential and help facilitate growth and self-actualization.
The Glee project is my idea to bring therapeutic glee clubs to community centres, schools, retirement homes, and youth centres looking for social activities for adults, children and seniors that seek alternative means to provide social support. I have conducted several glee club and choirs in which socialization, integration, developing self-esteem and self-mastery are the therapeutic goals that have been achieved.

GROUP GOALS
-
For participants to express themselves through music and group activities
-
To develop and foster social skills including cooperation and collaboration
-
To help participants contribute to the group in a meaningful way
-
To promote interactions that are respectful and supportive to the other group members
-
To develop inter-dependant friendships with the other members of the group
INDIVIDUAL
I have worked with individuals that have benefited from having the glee project in their life. Meeting once or twice a week to sing and be silly can greatly reduce stress, improve mental clarity and increase pleasant emotions
Results
I’ve seen the results and it is amazing to witness a non-verbal client suddenly mouth the words to “Twist and Shout” while clapping her hands.
I witnessed a 63 year old man break into tears, after a Glee club performance in which we received two standing ovations and proclaim for the first time in his life he felt special. This is the Glee project. Would you like to witness the healing power of Glee? Contact me at 514-884-0331 or email me at Jenniferleefurlong@gmail.com. I can provide videos and pictures of the groups if requested. The Beatles said it best, “All you need is love!”
